Thank you for a gift ,finally difficult enough for my father! He loves models and trains, but he can usually put them together with his eyes closed. This made the engineer inside come out (along with probably tweezers and some swear words)! I will definitely be buying this product again and again. It was packaged well, and arrived on the eta given. I probably wouldn't suggest this gift to a novice, though.. It seemed not only difficult step-wise, but delicate piece-wise.

This is a somewhat complex model kit. It is very well made. The parts are laser cut and precise. This is not for small kids! Some modeling experience is helpful, but patience and care are all that is really needed. The instruction book is in pictograph form, and sometimes is not immediately clear, but careful study usually clears up any confusion.

Let me first say that I mainly wanted to have a decoration piece, not for the train to actively be running or played with. I wanted to at least test it out, but I'm content with it sitting on my shelf. I assumed from instructions about the wheels of the train that any wheel could be put together, but I actually missed the fact that certain wheels matched others. This is why my train didn't run, but that doesn't subtract from the fact that this is a beautiful piece and an excellent gift for anybody who is good with crafts and delicate things.

Really cool, and lots of detail. I'm not a model builder. I bought this to assemble as a gift for a train aficionado who is not mechanically inclined. It took me about 12 hours to assemble. I broke a couple of parts through carelessness, but was able to glue them back together with Gorilla Original Gorilla Glue Minis, 12 g, Brown. Nothing too serious. Just be careful and follow every instruction in the book.
